London & San Francisco - Startupbootcamp, the leading global network of industry-focused
accelerators, today announces the launch of its second Startupbootcamp Scale program in San
Francisco. This innovation program will support growth-stage startups looking to expand their
businesses globally and increase revenue and funding opportunities.
Startupbootcamp adds San Francisco to its global family of innovation programs. The San Francisco
program will target growth-stage technology-based startups across a wide range of industries,
including Digital Health, Big Data & Analytics, AI & Machine Learning, IoT & Connectivity, Travel &
Logistics, FinTech and many others.
Startupbootcamp Scale San Francisco is backed by key players including StartersHub, a leading early-
stage technology seed fund, and Starcamp, a consortium of five prestigious universities with cross-
border mentor and investor network located in the heart of Silicon Valley. Eight companies will be
invited to join the program and benefit from deep networking access to the Bay Area mentors,
investors, and corporate partners. In addition to targeted mentoring, the 6 month program will include
a variety of workshops such as skill building masterclasses and business development showcases.
The program will:
· Facilitate collaboration with corporate partners in developing tools for selected startups to scale-
up quickly in the Bay Area and broader US, and then develop businesses in existing markets
· Invite companies to be on-site over a period of six months for various activities, including
workshops and masterclasses; mentor meetings; strategic partnership support and networking
events
· Participating companies will be asked for up to 5% equity in exchange for joining the program and
the initial $40,000 investment. Additional to in-cash support, program partners provide perks and
discounts in the value of $250,000
· Co-invest up to $250,000 in participating companies together with StartersHub among other
investors
Cigdem Toraman, Managing Director, Startupbootcamp Scale San Francisco, said: “I have been
running Startupbootcamp programs for over three years. During this time, I had the unique opportunity
to interact with thousands of startup founders and to realize their need for ongoing support when
taking their companies global. We must ensure these companies are fully-equipped for scaling up, and
this scale program ensures they will be.”
“We have also observed startups that expand to the US, specifically to San Francisco, often grow
faster, quickly reach high valuations, and are able to raise more funding. This is why Startupbootcamp
joined forces with Starcamp and StartersHub to launch the Scale San Francisco program. This
partnership will be recognized as “3S Landing Pad” supporting the most promising post-revenue
technology startups from all over the world.”
Andy Shannon, Head of Global at Startupbootcamp, said: With so many international programs under
our belt, we’ve seen many of our over 600 alumni targeting the US to grow their business and secure
investment. No other startup ecosystem offer as much global exposure to startups as the Bay Area.
With extraordinary industry partners and such a large community of alumni ready to take their
businesses to the next level, it was a no brainer that Startupbootcamp officially launched its second
Scale program in San Francisco.
