Raja Younes [Biography]
Raja Younes is the former Program Manager simultaneously for
MultiLane SAL, and ATC-VLSI Inc that was the first hardware exit
in Lebanon being acquired by a NASDAQ company IPG-Photonics,
[Oxford, Massachusetts, USA] in 2011.
Raja Younes was born in Deir El Kamar, Shouf on 14 March 1982. He graduated from
the Lebanese University Faculty of Sciences in October 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree
in Physics Major Electronics E.E.A. (Electronics, Electrical & Automation), and from the
Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers Paris in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in
Operation with Emphasis in Industrial Automation. He remained at the Conservatoire
National des Arts et Métiers as a candidate of Masters of Sciences degree in Electronics
& Automation Engineering.

While receiving his education, Raja was selected by the Partnership for Lebanon
Program to perform an 11 month internship as a Solid State Engineer in Partnership
with Cisco System, CA at MultiLane SAL where he stayed 7 years and successfully
managed the life cycle development of projects and products catering for tier 1
Semiconductor and Systems companies, in addition to Big Data Centers and PC
manufacturers in the Americas, Europe & Asia. Moreover, he participated in managing
the Pert3 ranked 3rd in the Test & Measurement World magazine competition in 2010,
in collaboration between MultiLane SAL and Lecroy Cop.

In 2014, he was the technology advisor at Strat Associates, an IMProve partner, to
support companies in creating sustainable innovative environment.

In September 2015, he joined Valoores with a road map to be an overseas country
manager, where he worked as Communication Executive, Banking Business Analyst and
a Project Manager for the Financial Inclusion; a Central Bank project.

In July 2017, Raja Younes was a member of the IEEE jury at the IEEE Communications
Engineering Students Competition 2017 across all the Engineering Faculties in Lebanon.
Previously, in August 2011, he was a member of the MultiLane, Cisco Systems and
Amideast jury to select the best candidate to join an engineering internship program at
Cisco Systems California.

Raja Younes has been currently in his position as Solution Specialist leading the
business of the Learning Management System at a reputable R&D Center serving 60
branches in 20 countries since March 2017, in addition, he developed the business plan
of the first hardware academy in Lebanon (R&D Training Center), and Founded recently
the Startups Fund .Org and Futuris Technologies program, 2 initiatives that aim
supporting the hardware ecosystem in Lebanon and to bridge the gap between the
Lebanese fresh engineers and the global market.

Moreover, he authored the World’s New Silicon Valley, the first Lebanese online guide
for entrepreneurs and investors’ incentives in Lebanon with around 4000 viral viewers
from 50 countries, and developed a group of more than 430 global and Lebanese
hardware entrepreneurs, executives and engineers. Recently, his article titled
“Lebanon, the right place for hardware startups” was chosen to be published at
Startup Business Italy and can be found in 3 languages: English, German, and French.

Furthermore, Raja Younes, partnered with the U.S. hardware accelerator Make in L.A.
to offer for Lebanese, MENA, Asian and European hardware startups 4 month
acceleration program in Los Angeles with access to mentorship, funds, prototyping and
production capabilities. Moreover, has personally participated at the MIT Media Lab
Refugees Learning Acceleration program to innovate learning solutions for refugees
using the Design Thinking and Human Centered Design methodologies through Virtual
Reality, Augmented Reality, Chatbot, and Mobile Applications technologies. In
addition, Raja initiated partnering with ANSYS (USA) & Fuild Codes (UAE/ Bulgaria) to
promote the ANSYS Startup Program and to deliver a series of Webinars and Workshops.

Recently, Raja was invited by the Italian Trade Agency in Los Angeles to participate in
the delegation of Los Angeles Investors at the Maker Faire in Rome, Italy where he met
a number of promising startups and is helping them in raising funds from US investors.
